Rear Combination Lamp

Striving for zero fatal traffic accidents
―Safety and security for all―

The diversity of designs is supported by the LEDs and original optical design of Stanley Electric
We provide systems that include functions such as message display

For BEV* in particular, there is a need for long and uniformly lit LED tail lamps and for systems that support functions such as animation and message display.
We have developed lens units (such as light-guiding lenses) to be combined with LEDs to provide signal lamps that are thin (in the depth direction), lightweight, and low in power consumption.

Rear Combination Lamp

The tail lamp informs the vehicles behind of the presence of the car at night, the stop lamp gives notice of braking, the turn signal lamp indicates vehicle turning right or left, and the back-up lamp is used to check the rearward safety and indicate the backward movement when reversing. A rear combination lamp functionally integrates these communication signals to the rear. The lamp offers safety, functionality and excellent design. Stanley Electric is continuing to pursue the ideal lamps using the latest technology.

Lamp Systems Tailored to The Design

In order to create an advanced body design, especially for the recent BEVs, there is a need for lamps that have a long length that fits the vehicle width and also an even light distribution.

Multi-lamp layout of lens unit Layout that follows the design

Our proprietary optical technology enables high-efficiency, seamless illumination without uneven light distribution between LEDs, while following the design contours of automotive body surfaces.

High Mount Stop Lamp

LED High Mount Stop Lamp

In 1984, the installation of a high mount stop lamp became a requirement in the United States to prevent rear-end collisions on highways. After this, high mount stop lamps also began to spread in Japan, especially on taxis, and Stanley Electric secured a 60% to 70% share of that market. Their use later also spread to normal cars.

World’s First LED High Mount Stop Lamp

In 1986, the high mount stop lamp using 76 ultra-high brightness LEDs made its world debut on the US export specification of the new "Fairlady Z" from the Nissan Motor Corporation. In the following month, we introduced the "LeDON" rear spoiler with an LED stop lamp to the accessory market. A rear spoiler with a built-in high mount stop lamp was adopted as an option for the first time in Japan on the SOARER from the Toyota Motor Corporation. From that time onward, LED high mount stop lamps spread explosively in Japan.

Motorcycle - Tail Lamp

Our tail lamps pursue safety and design properties within the limited size possible. Using LEDs makes the lamp profile thinner and improves the lighting response speed, which contributes to superior vehicle layout, safety, and lower power consumption.
